The Incredibles/Les Indestructibles
I study the collective consciousness ( the shared thoughts, feelings and actual experiences on various topics in life).
One of the things I observe there, is that showing, actively using, your unique (super-) talents in public is a taboo in many of the Western cultures I am 'in touch with'.
I also study 'what works to develop communities if increase of wellbing is the aim' (as welle as 'what is counterproductive', to that aim)
I state, rather firmly.
Not being allowed to use and develop your own unique talents within your community openly, is a very effective way of squeezing the joy of being and self-healing powers out of the indivividual, as well as the community.
This 8 minute cartoon, is showing how that (educating) mechanism works:
There is another cartoon movie I am aware of, with this ver same theme: The Incredibles.
Yesterday I observed something interesting, when I wanted to know what the movie is called in France.
That turned out to be Les Indestructibles.
Which made me suddenly feel into the originally chosen name (in the American English context) for this movie, some more.
Incredible, is one of those words that has a wide range of almost opposite meanings!
On the one hand side, there is this Really Wowwy Positive side where it resonates with vibes like ' fantastic' , 'great', 'awesome' and 'sooo wonderful'.
However, the very same word, according to my understanding and the dictionairy, also can mean 'untrustworthy' and 'unbelievable'. Then it is referring to and resonating with rather destructive vibes to social coherancy within comunities!
It is interesting how I always assumed the cartoon is named The Incredibles, to highlight their unique skills as Positive. Probably, because I myself consider unique (super-)talents as wonderful assets to building and developing well functioning communities with.
But, one can just as easily mix some vibes of ' I don't believe this' and ' I don't trust this' into it, without even having to change the word.
Thinking.. "He.. it is only a cartoon ( fantastic, suddenly leaning to pure fantasy) , amusement/distraction from the struggle with life, that has nothing to do with human every day reality!"
Vibrating on those vibes, procduces a completely different outlook on such 'talents' being present in your every day reality!
This belief produces repressing them if and when they are detected... in oneself and in another.
I realise, how the French word, has another vibrational quality to it.
Les Indestructibles..... the ones, one cannot destruct/destroy.
I can only wonder 'why', this was chosen. For Les Incroyables seems allright to my ( not native in French) mind and 'incroyable' has the same paradoxal ring to it.
I do observe how Les Indestructibles, sounds more 'pragmatic' to my resonance system.
OK, it may not strike the JOY OF BEING chords on the ultra-high notes, if one sees specific supertalent as something really usefull in communities.
But, by the same token, there is also much less risk of mixing the 'opposite' destructive vibes in, subconsciously, adhering to this collective 'common denominater' notion that applying supertalents poses a threat to social quality.
Fascinating observation is also, that the Dutch didn't go though 'all the trouble' of coming up with a name for the movie using Dutch words.
'De Ongelooflijken', would have been a direct translation, with the very same double-sided meanings.
(But would draw nobody in to go and see the movie, for to the Calvinistic mind, it sounds 'dull' and not at all atractive!)
So 'we' ( the Dutch) probably conveniantly figured for 'mareketingpurposes' that Incrediblle is the 'surname' of this family and any relation to the content of the movie is strictly coincidental.....?
Fascinating.... for 'we' ( the family of mankind) are called Homo Sapiens in the listings-book of Life on Earth.
Somehow, we ( humans) seem to thing that Sapiens (Knowing) is also just a surname, that has nothing to do with who we are and surely doesn't need translating into out every day life actions and decisions.....
Well........
It might be all just a cartoon/illusion anyway.....
